Also spoiler alert - if you watch Ian McKellen On Stage (a sort of one man show he did that is released online via National Theatre at Home) he confesses that he’s never actually read the books at all, so to go in there with “the fans who have read the books will be looking for this one tiny homosexual detail” whilst not having read the books is iconic behaviour
